Top 5 Places I have visited

Inspired by a mummy blogger http://sahmlovingit.blogspot.com/2011/01/top-5-places-ive-visited.html who was also inspired to do her list by another super blogger http://katetakes5.blogspot.com/2011/01/listography-places.html..so here is mine, since having the children it seems that exotic places have been off the agenda, however Im lucky enough to have been to some pretty special places.. not all too remote but special for different reasons

Firstly, I know this is a broad one – but I honestly cant pick between them so am saying

1) America – I have an ongoing love affair with the US, it started when I was very young and my parents took me to LA, taking in San Diego, Palm Springs,  Vegas (the only place I dont like) and continued when I travelled out there to become an Au Pair – life changing brilliant stuff. The family lived in Seattle and we travelled to SanFrancisco, Arizona and Hawaii in my time with them, I cant tell you how much I loved the place, have since been to Florida and New York and I feel so happy and at home in that culture its untrue

2)Majorca – Many have a perception of Majorca that is Club 18-30, Magalluf, Palma Nova – but thats never been my experience, I know these places exist but I just avoid them like the plague it has been the home to some of the greatest holidays both family and couple, usually in villas or in Palma, there is a Jamiroqui record called ‘Corner of the Earth’ – and Palma – well thats my corner of the earth

3) Trinity Beach Australia – A small beach village above Cairns in Queensland – its idyllic, waving palm trees, white sand, blue seas - you get the picture… picture postcard. I got a job there working in a beach cafe.. actually on the beach, most picturesque place I ever worked – I used to serve drinks and dinner with bare feet in bath warm water and sand between my toes…

4)Llanbedrog – North Wales – Here is a close to home one, one of the first places my husband took me in North Wales, the destination for so many sunny days, windswept walks, it  has beautiful beachhuts in lollypop colours that near fail to cheer me up. I can almost guarantee that on a sunny weekend  I will be mainly be found sipping something cold – either on that beach or off that beach on the boat admiring the view – bliss

5) New York – now I know I said I was lumping the US in one category but I can’t think of amazing places I have visited without putting NY right up there. The first time we visited we were lucky enough to have won it as a prize, it was all expenses, Waldorf, everything all in, including an authentic NY tourguide who showed you the local stuff.. was mind blowing, we have been back since, its right up there for me as one of the ultimate cities in the world, unforgettable – every year I say Im going back – this year I’m making it happen!

So its over to you.. whats your top 5?

If you like that you might LOVE this..

I wish they were mine but to rattle through my 17,000 photos would have taken me into next week, so chose some stock ones instead!
